This is an annual summer event in which World Heritage sites and other historical buildings are beautifully illuminated. The event is held every year from July to September. Promenade" means "walk" or "promenade" in French. Various World Heritage properties and historical buildings, from Yakushiji Temple in Nishinokyo in the west to Kasuga Taisha Shrine in the east, are illuminated to create a beautiful night scene in Nara. ■Kasuga Taisha Shrine (Ichinotorii Gate)
■Todaiji Temple (Great Buddha Hall, Chuu-mon Corridor, Nandaimon)
■Nara National Museum (Nara Buddhist Sculpture Hall, Nara Buddhist Art Research Center)
■Sarusawa Pond
■Ukimidō Hall
■Heijo Palace Site (First Daigoku-den Hall, Suzaku-mon Gate)
■Yakushiji Temple (East Pagoda and West Pagoda)
*All areas except Todaiji Temple are illuminated throughout the year.
*No nighttime admission to Todaiji, Yakushiji and other facilities (except on special night viewing days).
*Kofukuji Temple (five-story pagoda) will not be lit up for the time being.
*Please note that the event will be held rain or shine. Dates and times are subject to change depending on the supply and demand of electricity.
