This vast park covers an approximate area of 660 hectares. It encompasses the eastern portion of Nara City itself, as well Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and Nara National Museum; an area that stretches from Mount Wakakusa to Mount Kasuga's Primeval Forest: a grand park befitting this ancient capital city.

Be sure to take all your trash with you. 【How to Interact with Deer】 The deer you encounter in Nara Park are designated as a national natural treasure and are wild animals. Avoid startling them or teasing them by pretending to give them deer crackers (shika senbei). Such actions can cause unexpected behavior and lead to conflicts with people. Additionally, do not feed them anything other than deer crackers and always take your trash with you to prevent the deer from accidentally eating it. |
