※Unauthorized reproduction of images on this page is prohibited
At Shomyoji Temple, a temple associated with the monk and tea master Murata Juko, who established the foundations of the soan-style tea ceremony commonly known as "Wabicha" during the Muromachi period (1336-1573), a memorial service is held on the anniversary of his death. On this day, the main hall and tea room will be specially opened to the public, and matcha tea will be served in the guest hall (included in the admission fee of 1,500 yen per person).
*Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.
*The tea ceremony may be canceled, and only tea may be served to avoid waiting times in the guest hall. The atmosphere at the tea ceremony may also be different from previous years to avoid crowding.
*The content may change depending on the situation. For details, please visit the official Shomyoji Temple website
