Urabon Buddhist Sermon

The Urabon Buddhist Sermon is held on a weekend in mid-July, when lotus flowers are in full bloom. Visitors can listen to sermons by the chief priest and deputy priest free of charge. In addition, a memorial service for ancestors and the Segaki (hungry ghost) ritual are conducted. Guests are also offered "Yamato no Chagayu," a traditional Nara specialty rice porridge with tea.
