Heijokyu Izanai-kan (Guidance Center)

One of the five halls in Suzakumon Hiroba, it is a guidance facility where you can experience the Heijo Palace in the Nara period and learn about the history and overview of the entire Heijo Palace site.

Here, you can learn about the elegant world and people's lives of the Nara period in a space that makes you feel like you have entered the Heijo Palace in the past, through such displays as a restored model of the entire Heijo Palace (1/200) and a picture scroll of the Heijo Palace.

The exhibition of excavated items and materials of the Heijo Palace Ruins, and the structural model (1/5) produced for the restoration of the Daiichiji Daigokuden are also worth seeing.

From the south exit of Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji St., take the Gurutto Bus and get off at "Suzakumon Hiroba."

From the west exit of JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu Bus and get off at "Suzakumon Hiroba Mae."

Remarks

Highlight:
Throughout the facility, there are models and illustrations depicting the daily lives of people during the Nara period, offering an enjoyable way to learn. There are also interactive exhibits where visitors can experience the work of palace carpenters and officials from the Nara period, such as touch panels and block games, making it a recommended exhibition facility for children and those new to history.
